Skunk has a name

November 23, 2010 by Rebecca Russell

Press Release:  He has a name!   After many years of searching a great discovery has been made.  Our Stinker mascot’s official birth certificate has been found. Although exact details about his true age were not made available we have discovered that his given name is actually “Polecat Pete”. Mama and Papa skunk thought this would be appropriate because he was such a “little stinker”.  After years of being called everything but “late for dinner”, Pete said he was excited to be called Polecat Pete, Pete, Polecat or even P.P. From now on when someone says “Hey You” Polecat Pete won’t even turn around. pole·cat definition Spelled[pohl-kat] Show IPA –noun, plural -cats, ( especially collectively ) -cat. 1. a European mammal, Mustafa Putorius, of the weasel family, having a blackish fur and ejecting a fetid fluid when attacked or disturbed. Compare ferret1 def. 1 . 2. any of various North American skunks.
