Dan Lyons, General Manager for Arrowrock Supply, has been racing for more than 27 years, beginning in stock cars at Super Oval Speedway near Emmett when he was 19. He later built his very first open wheel car (6 cylinder modified) with his father, and started traveling to tracks around Idaho and Washington.
Dan raced sprint cars for Don & Bobbie Newman in the USAC and NSRA series in various northwestern states and Canada. He also ran at Meridian Speedway in the Super Modified and 360 Sprint car classes and picked up trophy dash and main event wins. He finished in the top 5 in points for most of his career, and won numerous trophies for Most Popular Driver. Most recently, Dan has been racing again for Don Newman driving vintage sprint cars. He is also crew chief and owner of a PRO 4 stock car that his son, DJ, runs on Saturday nights at Meridian Speedway. His love of racing keeps him busy.
Dan was born, grew up and went to school all in Boise. He has been married to Robin for 26 years . They have two children, DJ (24), Tara (18) and Toby the black lab/pointer mix (grand-dog). They enjoy camping, fishing, hunting and boating. Dan played football, basketball and baseball in high school and is currently on a softball team with his daughter Tara. He said his family loves sports and the kids grew up at the race track (track brats).
Dan has been with Arrowrock for 10 years and enjoys working with the great people from Stinker and Arrowrock. His advice, “Be a team player. No one is more or less important, every job counts.” Thanks Dan for all you do!
