Shannon Blaine was born in Lewiston, Idaho and raised with 5 siblings by a single mom after her dad died young. Her mom worked and took care of all of them and Shannon is pretty sure that is where her work ethic came from, why she learned to support herself and why she only had one natural child, Megan who is now 25! Shannon graduated from Boise State and has lived in Boise for more than 35 years. She has been married to Tom for 20 years and has 3 step children and 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 3-10 years and said they are amazing. Shannon said she doesn’t have any special talents but likes to do all the domestic stuff like cooking, sewing, gardening and decorating. She stays healthy by going to yoga and weight lifting classes, walking regularly and eating right. She likes to play golf, tennis and was a pretty good softball player back in the day. “Wellness is very important to me and I wish everyone would take care of the most important gift they possess; good health!” Shannon came to work for Stinker after a 27 year career at Albertson’s and has been with the company for 8 years this June. “It was scary to make a change after so many years but Stinker was a great place to finish my career. I started at Stinker as the Office Manager and Controller then took the Human Resource Director position 4 years ago which I have enjoyed very much! I was able to make a difference at this company because Charley and Shawn allowed me to and expected I would. My advice to all employees is to do whatever makes you feel happy and fulfilled. You are the only one who can determine what it is and you can be happy at whatever you do. It’s truly up to you! Help others and learn to laugh and you will be happier.” Shannon said she sometimes wishes she could continue with Stinker but her husband has been retired for several years. “It’s time to go have some fun together while we are both healthy! We plan to spend time at our cabin in McCall, travel to all the cool places we haven’t been in the Northwest and spend more time with family. I will miss all the friends I have made at Stinker but I won’t ever forget you!”
